Plateau United vs Shooting Stars

Shooting Stars hit the road again as they take on Plateau United at the New Jos Stadium in Matchday 22 of the NPFL25 season. This fixture promises to be a thrilling encounter between two sides aiming to solidify their positions at various touch points on the log.

The Oluyole Warriors head into this fixture full of confidence, having secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over Nasarawa United in Ibadan from Match Day 21. The win propelled Shooting Stars to second place on the log, just behind Remo Stars, and they’ll be looking to maintain the pressure at the top.

On the other hand, Plateau United are a good side at home, with a decent home records in the league, barring the home defeat suffered from Niger Tornadoes last September. Currently sitting at the 16th position on the log, they are desperate for a win to climb back into the mid table range on the log.

They’ll be banking on their home form to keep all three points in Jos.

Head-to-Head Record

Shooting Stars and Plateau United have shared closely contested games in recent seasons. While Plateau United have a good home record, Shooting Stars will be looking to upset the odds and grab their third away win of the season after breaking their NPFL 25 away jinx in Ikenne against Sunshine Stars, followed by the famous win at The Catherdral against Rangers International of Enugu.

Key Players to Watch

  • Sadiq Ibrahim (Shooting Stars) – Obegee announced his presence in the Shooting Stars colours with the winning goal on his debut last week. He is in a top form and will be instrumental to the outcome of the game.
  • Anthony Okachi (Shooting Stars) – The striker has been a key player for 3SC and will look to lead the line once again.
  • Nonso Nzediegwu (Shooting Stars) – After a brilliant debut, the new signing will be hoping to make another statement in Jos.
  • Itodo Daniel (Plateau United) – Plateau United’s left back has been instrumental to some of Plateau United’s goal with assists with his long throws. This will be a major threat to the 3SC defense.

What’s at Stake?

A win for Shooting Stars could solidify their position in the top two, while a victory for Plateau United would help them climb back into the mid table to maintain their NPFL status.

Can Gbenga Ogunbote’s men pull off another big result on the road, or will Plateau United make their home advantage count?

It’s a game to watch out for. As so many things are at stake for the two teams.
